Duplicate Copies from Apple Health

Workout Data fetched from Apple Health creates an Workout with just Heartrate Data and Calories and Duration while the Actual Workout I recorded in the App also Takes the Data from the Apple Health Workout creating Duplicate Copies of Every Workout. I.e One with the In App Muscle and Set Data  and one with just the Apple Health Data

Studied the problem a bit more during my session tomorrow. so actually yesterday it was compiled into one workout but today ig got splitted into 2 workout one with just the heart rate data and the other with all the in app data and other data apart from heart rate data.

I feel a good add on would be something like a merge workouts into single workout kinda option

some screenshots for better addressing of issue.

just took screenshots of the two workouts that got created for today one has the in app data and calories somehow synced and had the heart rate when I checked just after the workout sync but now it got duplicated into these 2 with the one with heart rate being sepreated and somehow the same amount of calories burned and I checked Strongsplit writing the workout to apple Heath was also disabled in app as well in apple health settings.

Hi Kshitij, after the last update that was released, there should a toggle in the Settings > Workout > Autosave to Apple Health, where you can disable the creation of workouts to Apple Health. Understand that you are already using your Garmin watch to log your workouts, so you could disable the autosave from Strongsplit to prevent the duplicate session created. Upon doing so, there will be a button in the complete screen where you can manually trigger the save to Apple Health should you not have your Garmin watch available during your workout.

Let me know if this works for you.

yeah so I’ve done that the day the update came but when I did workout and log my session and then after I synced apple health with garlic I get only one workout with all the data but later it splits into 2 workouts somehow

Do you mind helping to provide screenshots on the following? 1. Apple Health > Sharing > App > Strongsplit > Allow "Strongsplit" to write 2. Data from "Strongsplit" > Workouts

Apr 27, 2026

here’s the screenshots

Apr 27, 2026

Thanks, in the Apple Health settings, could you select on the Data from "Strongsplit" button followed by "Workouts" and grab a screenshot of the workouts from there?

Got it, much appreciated for your assistance

Apr 27, 2026

shall I share the screenshot of the activity? like for example I ran on Saturday and Sunday and those workouts were fetched from garmin so they are single workouts but the strength session where we have the Strongsplit in app data and the garmin data which is getting merged it splits into 2 workouts and both the workouts mention garmin as the source.

Apr 27, 2026

same workout was a single workout the day I did the workout but the next day it got split into these 2

Apr 29, 2026

See this is Today’s workout so like I wanted if we could have something like an option to select and merge the workouts that are split into 2

Seems that there is a weird behaviour with how the Garmin app syncs with Apple Health, whereby it will override the previously saved session with a new one. This causes the previous matched session with the Strongsplit record to become stale. This behaviour only became an issue with the recent update whereby there were some performance optimisation to cache matched sessions so that it doesn't have to rematch the Strongsplit record with an Apple Health session again. Will make some adjustments to handle this better, so in the next update, you should be able to just pull to refresh to re-sync it properly. Else logging out & re-logging back in should reset it.

Though do take note that for the matching of Strongsplit sessions with non-Strongsplit created Apple Health sessions (like the Garmin ones), it will be based on how close the start & end timings are. So for the last session you shared, it might not match since the time difference seems to be quite large. You could update the end time on your Garmin app so that it matches more closely with the Strongsplit session.
