6-Mar 2026 | Performance & 1RM improvements

Version 2.1.8

Keeping your progress on track and your watch in sync. 🏃‍♂️

This update is focused on giving you more control over how your 1RM is tracked and used across the app, along with a set of reliability improvements for Apple Watch, faster load times, and a handful of bug fixes that have been on the radar for a while.

Here’s what’s waiting for you in this version:

  • Your 1RM, your way: Improved controls on 1RM benchmarks used for performance metrics and much more consistent usage across the app

  • Smarter "per side" tracking: Auto-scaling for historical sets so your 1RM won't accidentally drop just because you changed how you log your weights.

  • A more reliable Apple Watch: New crash recovery and better data validations, so if something goes wrong mid-workout, your data is safe, and your exercises won't go missing.

  • Speedy performance: We cut down loading times and optimized the workout screen. The app now responds as fast as you do, so you can spend less time staring at your phone and more time lifting.

1. 1RM Improvements

Your 1RM config now gives you full control over how your performance metrics are measured and displayed, with better context, consistency, and flexibility throughout the app.

Choose which 1RM benchmark is used for performance metrics, be it a manual entry or auto estimated, so your data reflects how you actually train. You can also view the historical best set behind your last 3-month 1RM estimate for full transparency on how that number is calculated

Some other improvements includes the following:

  • Remove manual entries & adjust your formula: You can now delete manual or ad-hoc 1RM entries per exercise, and easily customize the exact formula used for estimation.

  • Syncing across the app: Your last selected 1RM config now syncs everywhere and is used consistently for both set suggestions and performance metrics.

  • More accurate historical charts: Exercise charts & 1RM metrics for historical sessions are now retrospective to the session's start time, giving you a better snapshot of your strength.

  • Instant settings updates: Changes made to 1RM settings during the set suggestion flow are saved immediately, rather than waiting for you to accept the suggestion.

2. Per Side Logging Improvements

When switching between recording the total weight vs the weight per side, historical sets will now be automatically scaled, keeping exercise charts and 1RM metrics in sync with however you're currently logging.

So if you're switching to recording your weights to be per side instead of the sum it won't seem like your performance had suddenly reduced by 50%. If you don't want to implement the auto scaling, you can simply toggle it off when configuring the estimated 1RM per exercise.

3. Apple Watch Improvements

I know how frustrating it is to be crushing a workout only for a tech glitch to get in the way. With the revamped Apple Watch app released in the last update, some users were already reporting issues like app crashes or missing exercises.

This update has improved the reliability of the Apple Watch app to give you total peace of mind, so you can focus on your sweat, not your screen.

  • Crash-proof sessions: If the app closes unexpectedly mid-workout, don’t panic. You can now jump right back in and recover your session exactly where you left off.

  • Rock-solid syncing: We’ve improved the way your phone and Watch talk to each other, making sure your hard-earned data actually gets where it’s going every single time.

  • Faster fixes: We’ve added smarter behind-the-scenes tools to help us spot and squash connection hiccups before they get in your way.

4. Performance Improvements

Historical sessions load in the background: The app now feels faster right from the start, fetching your history while you're getting ready to lift.

Smoother workouts: Workout performance has been optimized to reduce the reliance on caching data, keeping things snappy from your first set to your last.

Instant timers: Fixed the 1–2 second delay when starting a new timer. Now, when you hit start, the clock moves as fast as you do.

5. Bug Fixes

  • Fixed an issue where muscle distribution breakdown showed "Not set" even when all exercises had a muscle group assigned

  • Fixed an issue where Apple Watch may crash when dismissing a completed timer on older models

  • Fixed an issue where Apple Watch could override changes made on the phone at the end of a timer

  • Fixed an issue where exercise dimensions for sets in historical sessions didn't update immediately after editing via the exercise details tab

  • Fixed an issue where distance in the activity tab could include sets that previously had a distance dimension but was later removed

  • Fixed an issue where creating an exercise without filters would incorrectly save an empty object for the muscles
